Friedrichstadt · Düsseldorf
THE DEN
A Room You Belong To.

We are transforming a former neighbourhood bar into an independent social space for good drinks, music, comedy, conversation, community and the occasional late-night dance.

Lease signed

The Den is no longer an idea. We have the space.

Keys collected

We have started clearing, planning and rebuilding.

Renovation underway

Every week, the room looks a little more like The Den.

Why The Den?

A place people return to.

A den is where people gather, feel safe, share stories and come back again.

That is what we want to build in Friedrichstadt: not another generic bar, but a familiar room with its own character, rhythm and community.

Why we are building it

I kept coming back to the same idea.

I have spent years bringing people together through events, conversations and communities.

Running a bar has been somewhere in the back of my mind for a long time. When this place became available, it felt like the right moment to stop imagining it and start building it.

The Den is the kind of room we always wished existed: a place where strangers become regulars, conversations become friendships and people feel that they belong.

The gap

Düsseldorf has bars. This is something else.

What the city already has

  • Large commercial venues
  • Tourist-heavy nightlife
  • Anonymous drinking spaces
  • Music chosen by algorithms
  • Places built around quick turnover only

What The Den is building

  • An intimate neighbourhood room
  • A place for locals and internationals
  • Curated music and small live events
  • Real conversation and recurring communities
  • A bar with a recognisable face and personality
The transformation

Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.

People are not funding an empty promise. They can see The Den taking shape in real time.

What happens inside

More than one reason to come back.

🍺

Good drinks

Altbier, Pils, long drinks, coffee and signature Mülltonne cocktails.

🎤

Comedy and open mic

An intimate stage for new voices, imperfect performances and very real laughter.

🎵

Music with character

Vinyl, selectors, acoustic sets, local singers and late-night music without a fixed genre cage.

💬

Conversations

Talks, community evenings, social circles and subjects that deserve more than small talk.

🌍

International and local

A room where Düsseldorf's international communities and local regulars naturally meet.

🪩

Weekend energy

On Friday and Saturday, the room can shift from neighbourhood bar to small dancefloor.

Help us finish the build

€50,000 gets The Den open properly.

We already have €11,000 committed. The next part pays for the things that turn a signed lease and a half-renovated room into a functioning business.

Questions

Before you join.

Is this an investment or share in the business?

No. Public Founding Circle contributions are reward-based community funding and do not give ownership, voting rights or entitlement to profits. The existing founding shareholder contribution is separate from this public campaign.

What happens after I choose a tier?

Complete the form, receive the bank-transfer details, transfer the amount within 72 hours and receive a personal confirmation once payment arrives.

What happens if the full target is not reached?

The lease is already signed and renovation has started. The campaign helps us complete the build with stronger equipment, adequate stock and working capital. We will publish transparent progress updates and explain any changes to the opening plan.

How do founder tokens work?

Founder tokens are used over multiple visits, generally one per visit, within the stated validity period. They are not redeemable for cash and cannot be combined with launch discounts or other promotions.

Will a Namesake drink remain forever?

The person's name remains part of The Den's signature menu. The recipe may evolve over time so the drink stays practical, seasonal and commercially viable.

Can I stay private?

Yes. You can choose how your name appears, use initials, or ask not to be publicly displayed.

Can a company join the Founding Circle?

Yes. Companies and organisations can participate. Contact us first if you need an invoice or want to discuss recognition.
